September 29, 2008. xNormal v3.16.2 Beta 1

Weeee, finally completed the new version 3.16.2 Beta 1 of the xNormal normal mapper tool.

This application creates DOT3 bump mapping textures from a very high polygon model and to fit it into a low polygon one.

You can download it in the projects section as usually.

March 20, 2006. Updated site.

I have recompiled site, projects and examples using the new MySql 5.0 and Visual Studio 2005 Express. As result, you should notice better performance and compatibility with web browsers.

Now the page uses XHTML 1.0 to display itself. Added the W3C Validation logo  logo and hyperlink to test page compatibility. It uses ASP.NET 2.0 with master pages, precompilation, caching, themes and health monitoring.

Corrected too some minor bugs and appeareance errors.

October 14, 2005. Updated Everquest database.

The Everquest database has been updated with some Depths of Darkhollow items as well as some Anguish armor. I added too a feature to search items by augmentation slot type.

I changed the web hosting. After trying monoforge, needed more space and bandwith. Sorry for the troubles I caused.

April 25, 2005. Small update.

Solved some minor bugs and changed the way you search EQ/WoW items ( now you need to press the "Display Item" to preview it ).

On the other hand,  AMD launched its Opteron Dual Core CPU. We will see how to program the future multithreaded applications with it.

Also, the WinHEC 2005 started. Hope in a few Microsoft will reveal the upcoming Xbox 2, new betas for Longhorn, Windows XP 64 Bits, Avalon, IE7 and .NET 2.0. You can get all the info about this important conference at Microsoft site and also in NeoWin's WinHEC 2005 Thread .

March 28, 2005. More EQ items and small database change.

I am adding tons and tons of new Dragons of Norrath items to the Everquest database. Also, changed some internal structures to allow augmentations to fit in more than one slot ( for example, in slots 7 and 8 ).

Added some old Qvic armor too ( will add even more these days ) and the first Overlord Mata Muram ( probably the most difficult mob of Everquest ) loot ( grtz www.cestusdei.org on the first serverwide kill !!! )

March 23, 2005. Small update.

I am replacing the old HTML DIVs with tables, so the page will be displayed centered in the screen and is even possible to resize it without problems.

I am tryng to validate all using the HTML W3C validation signature to achieve the maximum compatibility between web browsers.

Also, added some new DoN items to the Everquest database, improved database access timing and solved some bug problems.

Dropped out the World of Warcraft sections because I no longer play it, sorry.

January 25, 2005. Other browsers.

Normally people uses Internet Explorer as browser, but it is not the only option.

I downloaded Opera ( www.opera.com ) and Firefox ( www.getfirefox.com ) to make some tests. Both surprised me because are really good and reached more than 25 MILLIONS of downloads !!!

The W3C has a nice web free editor/browser called Amaya 9.1 . With it you can create and test HTML/XHTML/SVG/MathML/CSS pages. Very useful.

Now this page is fully compatible with any Mozilla browser ( Firefox, Opera ) and also with Internet Explorer 5 or above.

January 10, 2005. Some updates.

Updated the Everquest section with new screenshots and news and solved a bug with the Managed Direct3D occlusion queries example. Also, did a new version of the Evidence Cleaner.

I completed a small Everquest's item database too. Enjoy it!!!

December 21, 2004. Server changes.

Page was moved to the wonderful and mighty Linux go-mono-based server http://www.monoforge.com. Is pretty curious ( and cheap ) to use http://www.go-mono.org over Linux to host ASP.NET pages !!!

March 11, 2004. Solved problems with Linux.

Problems visualizing this page with Linux ( Konqueror, FireBird, etc ) were solved ( I hope ).

Labels are not full HTML formatted and font is defined in a way Linux's web navigators should render properly. The problem is that, in Linux, some truetype fonts dont exist, so the navigator should put a "default" font, causing the labels to change in size ...

March 4, 2004. Site remade.

I decided to remake the site using the AMAZING Microsoft's ASP.NET technology. I think now the web looks much better and was VERY easy to program!

You can download a FREE 1,3Mb program to make ASP .NET pages like this in http://www.asp.net/webmatrix/. Also, you can download/order in CD a FREE ASP.NET resource kit including tons and tons of controls, form, fonts, etc at http://msdn.microsoft.com/asp.net/asprk/ or to get 1-month ASP.NET free hosting at http://www.webmatrixhosting.net !!!
